About Me

My photo
It is second time round mommy2be and I am still feeling as excited and nervous and I did the first time. The last 2 years have been amazing. Being pregnant for the first time and then having Josh. The experience has enriched my life and every day with my precious child is special and a blessing. And now there will be another bundle of joy and a brother or sister for Josh. My little family is growing and Errol and I could not be happier! The joy and love that consumes your life when you have a child is something I could never have imagined. LOVE is all I can say!

Today's Pics

Here are todays pics of la Bump and very happy parents to be!

Josh Randall

May I introduce you to our little boy!!! Yes folks, we are being blessed with a son.

I went for my scan today and got to see Josh Randall for the first time. Errol and I are both over the moon! We think his full name is going to be Joshua Errol Randall! Daddy's little boy!

Unfortunately Errol could not make it today so I went on my own. I went in and as soon as the ultrasound started, Josh decided to roll over face down. I thought I was going to have to leave not knowing who was in there but after 40 minutes and having me on both sides and upside down, we finally got a good look at you know what! Who would of thought our boy would be camera shy! Josh is also a really tall baby, his legs are really long and his foot was touching his head. On the scale of what is average, he is at the very top! I wonder who he gets that from???

All is good and now we can start planning. What a wonderful day!

13th November 2007

Today is another miles stone in the life of babarandall! Mommy2be has been feeling little flutterings and bubbles in the tummy for the past 2 weeks but lately they have been quite strong. When I felt them this evening, I got Daddy2be to put his hand on my belly and babarandall gave one might thump! It's truely amazing feeling the baby moving and if you only have seen Errol's face.
Otherwise, all is good. I am eating red meat again for the first time in years. My first steak was so good I got Errol to make another one 2 days later. I was a little concerned about my weight gain the other day so I decided to head to the doc for a check up. We weighed me, listened to the heartbeat and measured my tummy! Everything is fine and I am fit and healthy and loving life. No reason for concern, I am a slim person in general so my weight gain is normal. I have not got on the scale in 2 weeks but I am sure, I have put on another kg or so.
I have had a few headaches lately and a migraine. I think its all part and partial! Nothing to get too worried about.
Oh I had to fainting experiences too but thats from standing too long and people not giving up their seats on busses and trains.
Life is good and nothing to worry about!
Enjoy the pics. 16 more days till we find out if it's Josh or Marley!

17th October 2007

Thought I would put a little update on the blog with some new pics. Things have been going really well. I am definitely starting to show! In the mornings my tummy is flat and by the end of the day, I have a massive bump! I guess it depends on my food intake! The tummy feels like a water balloon. I love it! I have finally started to put on some weight. I was worried a couple of weeks ago because I was losing weight but I think that was down to me been sick with a virus. Not fun when you cannot medicate! I could not keep coffee down which was strange but I am back on my one cup a day now and no issues. When I found out I was pregnant, I weighed 76.6kg's and this week I weighed my self and weighed 78.6kg's. I will naturally be tracking my weightgain throughout and do not want to turn into a house! Tomorrow I go to hospital for a few blood tests. Not sure what its for but just do what I am told. Would love for them to do a scan so we can find out if we are having Josh or Marley first. Guess we'll all have to wait until the 29th of November!
I have also started yoga for pregnant mums and am really enjoying it. As soon as I get my new little car, I would like to start swimming. Trying to stay fit and healthy! Hard with winter approaching.
Well thats all the news from me. I cannot believe I am already 4 months pregnant! 6 months time I will be a mommy! What a thought!

First Ante Natal Scan - September 20th 2007

Today Errol and I went for our first ante natal appointment and got to have another scan. This one was amazing. I am so happy that Errol got to share the moment with me. The baby was sleeping and then woke up while we were scanning and we could see him/her stretch, move around, kick. It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. Errol is convinced it's a boy and the lady doing the scan did refer to the baby as 'him' all the time. We will know at 22 weeks unless I change my mind and decide to keep you all in suspence! Queen Charlotte Hospital is an amazing facility and I am really happy to be having baby Randall there.
All is well with the baby and I am officially 11 weeks and 6 days pregnant. Baby is due the 4th of April 2008! Loads of appointments are in the diary for the next few months and I feel like I am really well looked after. Happy as Larry! ;-)

My first drop of alcohol in 3 months! September 14th

Friday night, Ing and I went to O' Neills in Shep's Bush to watch the Springboks crush the English! I did not feel pregnant and was really in the mood for a drink. After much debate and permission granted from E, I had a small glass of red wine which I poured into a glass of coke with lots of ice. Basically a Katemba! Not too bad and definitely a nice option for when I feel like a drink again. Think I'll stick to my lime and soda's in the meantime and save the Katemba's for when I'm really in the mood for a celebration.

My Pregnancy this far - September 12th 2007

I think I have had a relatively easy pregnancy this far! I have not had any really serious morning sickness. I had an adverse reaction to yoghurt covered apricots a few weeks back, which was quite odd. I am off food in general and actually lost weight over the first few weeks. Thank goodness Aunty Ing is doing all the cooking. I don't want food that is too elaborate and too rich. The simple things like avo on toast is all it takes to please me. I just don't want to be around food. I cannot stand chicken, not the site, taste or texture. Salad and veg are also off the menu and all I really want are starchy things.
I have never experienced being so tired before, ever! I have really restless nights and need the loo throughout. I am limiting myself to one cup of coffee a day and this does not help things. I have discovered a flavoured water with guarana and ginseng which I buy if I am really falling asleep at my desk or going out.
My breasts are heavy, big and sore! They have really grown. As you can tell from the bump pic, so has my waistline!

My Pregnancy Calendar

Internal Scan - August 30th 2007

I had a few minor issues and got sent to the early pregnancy unit for an internal scan.
All is good and Baby Randall is healthy and has a heart thats beating strong.
Baby is dated and I am told I am 8 weeks and 5 days pregnant and Baby Randall is now due on the 4th April 2008. ( 04/04/08 )

My First Scan - August 16th 2007

I had a scan booked because of a hernia and took this opportunity to ask the Doc to show me baby Randall. Saw our little bean for the first time. Honestley the size of a bean! Am totally amazed. Doc confirms I am about 6 weeks pregnant.

New Doctor August 6th 2007

Have to change doctors and am given a new due date for baby Randall of April 8th 2008.

First Doctors Appointment August 3rd 2007

4 positive tests later, I am at the doctor with Errol getting confirmation that I am pregnant.
They do not do another test and tell me home tests are 100% accurate.
Am told baby Randall is due on April 12th 2008.
I am finally feeling like I am pregnant and getting happy.

Discovering Baby Randall -1st August 2007

I'm "late" and my breast are sore and heavy. I jokingly ask Errol if he thinks my breasts look bigger. He joked back with a "yes, I must be pregnant" This plays on my mind all day and on my way back from work, I pass the chemist and ring Errol and ask him if he thinks I should buy a test. I come home with 2 tests and am chatting away to Errol and not really paying attention to what I am doing or where I am supposed to be looking. After a while I notice two red lines! I call Errol and tell him I think he better come and have a look at it. Naturally he is OVERJOYED! I am in complete shock and cannot believe I can actually be pregnant!
I go off to Weight Watchers because I think I am putting on weight. On the way back I tell Clare in the car and freak out. She insists we do the other test when I get home. Once again 2 stripes and this time stronger than the first test.
Clare and Errol are jumping for joy. I am taking a while to absorb all the news and still cannot believe it.

Baby Randall in the making!

July 2007, Errol has dreams about his child. Decides we should start trying for Baby Randall. We are not too serious about this "trying" stage and are convinced we will take months to fall pregnant...
